The Community Service Committee had some meaningful accomplishments this year!

  1. The toolkit was completed and branded and available to NWIR members
  2. Stephanie Baird, Oregon Council, joined the committee as co-chair with wonderful partnerships to share in her community
  3. Stephanie and Chair Susan DeGrassi, (Southern California) presented at NWIR Day in Dallas

A milestone moment occurred February, the Oregon Council partnered with A Village for One and donated a roof to their shelter for children that are victims of human trafficking. The committee invited the Executive Director to an online meeting to share their story with the council presenting on how they pulled together material and labor donations to get the project completed.

The Community Service Committee welcomes everyone to listen in, share their stories, and actively push to integrate community service in the councils and companies as a way to connect, give back, and lift their brands. Webinar meetings are scheduled 6 times a year that focus on topics like volunteer recruitment, cause marketing and service ideas. Committee meetings are noted on the calendar with instructions on how to join the Zoom meetings which are open to everyone.
