A Letter From The Chair

Heidi J. Ellsworth, President, HJE Consulting Group & Current NWIR Chair

As we approach May 31st and the end of NWIR’s first official fiscal year, I am simply amazed.  Although this journey started in 2014 with simple conversations of “what if we could develop an association for women in roofing”, it wasn’t until June 2016 that we officially launched membership and sponsorship of National Women in Roofing (NWIR).

Now a year later, we have 22 wonderful founding sponsors and over 410 founding members.  It is amazing!  We are closing in on 10 NWIR Councils around the country who are doing great things to empower women.  A vision three years ago is now a reality.  It was through hard work and tenacity but it was powered by an underlying need in the industry.  We are an industry that is ready to go to the next level of professionalism.  Into a new age of diversity, technology and growth.  I see it every day.  The roofing industry is like home and over the last couple of years, we have been able to open that door and welcome in new faces, ideas and practices.

I would like to invite all of you to be a part of this founding year.  Now is the time to sign up as a member so that you get that founding member designation.  It is only $60 a year but if that is out of your reach, call us.  We want all women empowered by this amazing association and we will figure out how to make you a member through scholarship or sponsorship.  It is for everyone, so let us know what you need.

I would also like to invite any companies or organizations to be a founding sponsor.  Founding sponsors will always be recognized as that, a founding sponsor who stepped up and helped make this possible.  A company that is progressive and sees the importance of bringing and empowering women into the roofing industry.

For those of you who are already members and sponsors, THANK YOU.  You are leaders and you are setting a precedent for the entire industry!  It will only keep getting better!!!

Alison LaValley, NRCA & Mardee Billingsley, Tremco – NWIR Membership

It has been a wonderful year for National Women in Roofing (NWIR)! We are now more than 490 members strong (men and women, we’re proud to say), and we have 22 fabulous founding sponsors. And in gratitude for the support shown by these dedicated and faithful members, we are designating them into perpetuity as NWIR founding members, a designation that will retire on May 31, 2017. Won’t you join us?

A very wise woman once said, “No matter where you are in life, inspire and empower the women around you. Success is never reached alone. And, wisdom and wealth are sweeter shared.” These simple yet powerful words ring true of NWIR’s mission to educate, empower, recruit, mentor and provide opportunities to interact with women and create strong, long-lasting and supportive networks.

We are all in different places in our lives and careers. Many of you are millennials who are just beginning your life in this wonderful industry we call roofing. And, many others like myself, are teetering on the Gen X/Baby Boomer stage of life, passionate about what we do, and willing to mentor and share what we know to inspire and empower you to succeed.

For a while now, you may have been receiving our newsletters, emails, and invitations to participate in our events, but today, we are asking you to join. Officially join. And when you make a commitment to NWIR for just $60, you will be a member. And, better yet… a Founding one!

Joining by May 31, 2017 allows you exclusive access to a logo designed only for Founding Members to be used in your email signature, in addition, to a special Founding Member lapel pin that will be mailed out in late June … but only to Founding Members.

So please, take a few minutes and join today. And remember, no matter where you are in life, it is all “sweeter shared.”

Only one day left to be a Founding Sponsor

NWIR Founding SponsorIn gratitude of the investment shown by our initial financial supporters, we are designating them into perpetuity as Founding Sponsors, a sponsorship category that will retire on May 31, 2017. All companies who have committed $10,000 by May 31, 2017 will be forever recognized as Founding Sponsors. They will receive a limited edition specialized logo that recognizes their support as a Founding Sponsor (for exclusive use only by NWIR Founding Sponsors).
