Thank you SO MUCH for representing NWiR and the roofing industry so well at Roofing Day in D.C. 2021.  NRCA staff is following up with your meetings now and reports they have heard from countless offices on how impressed they were with the roofing industry’s professionalism, knowledge of the issues, and overall preparedness to discuss complicated issues.

Deborah Mazol and Teri Dorn (from NRCA’s government relations office) passed on that there were nearly 250 meetings on Capitol Hill, 57 with a Member of Congress; and over 325 participants this year.  The word on the street is that this was one of the larger “fly-ins” that has been coordinated recently AND our fly-in had the highest percentage where Members of Congress joined. Given the changing Congressional calendar and the new virtual environment this is really quite an achievement!

Prior to Roofing Day, I had a great time chatting with Teri and Deb about Roofing Day. Scroll back through the NWiR blog to see video snippets of our conversation.

The photo here features NWiR Immediate Past Chair Jennifer Stone with Matt Reed, Director in the Office of Representative Tom McClintock (R-CA-04). Zoom in and see the lining on that super cool blazer!

If you have photos from Roofing Day, we would love to use them! Please email them to Elizabeth [at] nationalwomeninroofing [dot] org in the NWiR office.
