This month had the ladies of the Tampa Council out in our communities making a difference!

Tara Cole, of Quality Roofing organized the Tampa Chapter’s Walk to end Breast Cancer team! She coordinated shirts for all members to purchase as well as set up our online portal to donate to this worthy cause. Her company came out in full strength as well as her own family and fellow Tampa Council Member Miriah Akers accompanied by her husband Drew Akers. Tara’s husband, Nathan Cole, also of Quality Roofing, son Brody Cole and daughter Parker Cole as well as mother in law Mary Cepak came to show their support for Tara’s event as well as many members of Quality Roofing. The day started with Shapes Fitness warming everyone up for the big walk! Tara’s friend, Amy Tobacco was on stage with her Shapes team making sure the crowd was pumped and ready to walk! The day was an emotional day for everyone as breast cancer touches most people’s lives in one way or another. The empowerment and togetherness created an atmosphere of love and support for those fighting at this time. Thank you, Tara Cole, for showing our community that the NWIR Tampa Council is part of the fight to end Breast Cancer. NWIR Tampa Council Dawn Holsinger of Delta Rep Group held her annual JD Hasselbach Charity Golf Classic benefitting JDRF (Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation) on November 14 at the Temple Terrace Golf and Country Club. Dawn honored Roofing industry legend Jim Coston Sr of Spec Building Materials while raising money for the cause near and dear to her heart. Her twin sons have both been fighting type 1 diabetes for many years and the family even goes so far as to be part of ongoing research at the University of Florida. Dawn’s boys, who are 18 years old, donated $10,000 to the cause themselves! They are such a powerhouse of a family for the research and development of new treatment options for Diabetes. The day brought 88 golfers as well as auction and raffle. The final numbers are not in yet but will be reported in the next issue of our Tampa Council newsletter. Tampa Council members Karen Ruel and Bridget Wilson of Cardinal Roofing as well as Tara Cole and Miria Akers of Quality Roofing volunteered at the event along with Justin Burnham and Wayne Heironimus of Delta Rep Group and Kevin Morris of Tubos. Members Christina Smith of Suncoast Roofing Supply, Christie Coston of Cotney Construction Law, Melinda Miles of Spec Building Supply and Les Thompson of Thompson Architectural Metals golfed in the event.
