The NWIR Board of Directors represents the interests of the general membership and oversees the committees that implement all programs and services. The Board is governed by an Executive Committee that ensures that the direction of the Board continually reflects the mission of the association.

Non-Voting Chair-Elects
Under the new governance structure, the Chair-Elect (formerly known as the Vice-Chair) of each committee will not have a formal seat on the board until they roll up into the Chair position. Because they collaborate and work hand-in-hand with the chair, this remains an important role. Also, because this member does transition into the Chair role (and a voting board seat) after 1 year, those desiring a Chair-Elect position must complete the board application in order to be considered.
* Note: Chairs-Elect are welcome to sit-in on the virtual calls in order to stay informed on board happenings; however, the Chair of the committee will attend the in-person meetings and relay the information to the Chair-Elect immediately following. Should the Chair not be able to attend, the Chair-Elect may attend as proxy.
