What is an NWIR Council?

NWIR councils are a way for members to meet on a regular basis with those in their city or region as they host networking events, participate in community service projects or just gather informally to catch up with each other.

Some associations call them chapters. We call our local groups councils. But whatever name you choose, one thing is for certain. Participating in a local council helps a national association feel smaller. Because you get to see each other more than just a couple times per year, deep friendships often result and a sense of camaraderie develops.

NWIR Councils are the lifeblood of our organization. Events happen all throughout the year  -  from educational events to clothing drives, happy hours or even Top Golf or ax throwing!  NWIR members always know how to have a good time when we get together.

Want to work on your leadership skills? Get involved in local council leadership! It's a great way to help out with the operations of the group and to develop key leadership skills that can be beneficial both personally and professionally.

Check out our interactive councils map here to find a council nearest you. We're happy to help you find a place to plug in!
